As someone who went through the FT 2026 process without a return offer and got 2 BB FT offers (was in more processes but withdrew after receiving the offers), unfortunately all the formal processes are over and have been for approx a month or 2. It’s not over tho, I’ve heard of potential hiring after January once banks reassess headcount needs. I would put ego aside and literally apply anywhere and everywhere in every finance related industry. I wouldn’t look into MBAs yet. Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll land somewhere!

Nope far from evercore. I just networked like crazy EVERYWHERE, put my ego aside, and knew my technicals lights out. Was in approx 10 processes and thankfully got an offer out of it. I know some places refused to look at kids without a return, but my experience was most banks asked and I just had a good story. I know other kids without returns who landed FT offers too, its all about the story and drive

Thank you so much, I’ve just been throwing my apps everywhere. I would say the worst part is not even getting a response back than a rejection. I really hope it all works out

Got a BB graduate offer in London after no return offer from various off-cycles. Actually you can do a master in London/Europe and then recruit again for summer/grad here. Honestly speaking, you are already lucky because many people in continental Europe can only apply for offcycle internships in their local office in the master years. And sometimes you return rate can be 0/5 (simply no headcount). We have a joke of “26 year old German intern” (now it’s more like 28y). So no worries just carry on

It's a terrible market but don't give up. I got an IB FT offer a few weeks ago. Had a similar situation where I had good experiences but didn't get return due to something largely out of my control. Make sure you have a good story as to what didn't work out and try to get involved in processes before the application is posted. Every first and second year IB analyst that graduated from your school should know your name and keep you in mind in case their group starts hiring. Multiple banks i was talking to said they would be looking to fill spots after the new year so there's definitely going to be spots. Try to find groups that are bringing in new seniors (MDs, VPs etc) because if they're hiring at the senior level they're likely going to be hiring at the junior level. Good luck, you got this.

I'm in the same boat but was a top MM this summer and didn't get an RO, the reason was total bullshit. I can't get anyone on the phone or to respond to cold emails. I go to a non-target and have had 6 internships (2 PE / 2 IB / 2 corp fin.) and it all feels like my hard work was for nothing. I'm in an interview process with a LMM boutique and it legitimately might be my last shot to land a FT IB job

I don't want to work in FP&A or corp fin. but I'm so lost what to do. It's all made me pretty depressed tbh, and I'm giving it my all to land something.
