FT Recruitment before & during summer

I was wondering what the best way to start the FT process was and had a couple of questions about the nature of recruitment as well.

Firstly, how and when do you return to your existing contacts? Is February too early to follow up with connections you made in November, or is that an acceptable time to email again? And when you're emailing/speaking to folks how do you avoid seeming like you just 'didn't get the bank of your choice' and want to jump ship ASAP?

Secondly, (and this is a bit stupid), but is putting Incoming IB SA on your resume considered 'acceptable' or way too pushy? Since I know where I'm working this summer I figure it would be a good way of reminding analysts who I'm speaking to that I've secured something and I'm not asking them for a spot immediately.

Finally, how does the recruitment process actually work? Is it totally unstructured or do some firms actually have formal FT recruitment in NY? I'd really appreciate answers to any part of the question.
