Lesson learned, don’t hire women, they too emotional. JK but, seriously this is a huge reason why senior bankers are reluctant to hire women. Heard stories of fake accusation of sexual harassment all the time. This girl is making it harder for women to break into high finance.

Holy shit what an absolute simp, what's wrong with people at GA? That dude is MD and Global Head of Technology fucking hell.

Next time a woman complains about finance being a male-dominated industry, just show her that screenshot. A fucking Global Head of one of the biggest growth equity firms in the world crawling at the feet of some ugly bitch with 5 years of work experience. Women have absolutely no excuse, there's no sexism or misogyny or anything holding them back. It's the opposite really: they have an unfair advantage because as long as they're not horribly disfigured, people will help them because they want to fuck them.

What an absolutely terrible take on your part and to somehow make this about gender isn’t right. You may be surprised but some senior people genuinely care about their junior employees and when someone is going through a hard time (whether just struggling with work, personal situation, or other, even if as extreme as this situation) senior people tend to reach out and try and help, regardless of gender/race/etc. Yes, there is also a legal angle and a firm reputation point that senior people are trying to protect, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t also care in these situations.

You are looking for an excuse to make inflammatory comments about women because this case happens to be about a woman, but cases like this (someone believes they have been wronged, makes accusations about people and firm) happen with men, women, different races, etc.

And what are you looking for? the MD to be an a**hole? That stereotype of finance is long gone, you can be successful in this field, expect a lot from your employees, AND care about them. Your comments are pretty concerning about your view on women and the work in general.

agree that senior people care about juniors once in a while, but I believe she said he only reached out after she trashed him on a supposedly anonymous survey (suggesting he never treated her that nicely before then)

and given the number of marketing materials about GA’s focus on female recruitment, yes I’d argue she would not get that sort of attention or care if she wasnt a chick

do you disagree? are Kevin Zhang and Bartholomew the Third getting personal emails from group heads sucking them off if they rank seniors poorly on a review? no, they’re getting bottom bucket and asked to gtfo

It's all explained here -> https://www.efinancialcareers.com/news/2022/07/leaving-private-equity-j…

Basically she was the lead to establish a tech high growth fund in early 2022 and General Atlantic refused to give her carry. Matters got when she got a heart condition from stress and ended up in the hospital.

Apparently she quit some months ago and leaked some GA info via linked in that GA got deleted, sending her into a disgruntled tirade.

Just another example that PE isn't the promise land and has a level of grind and pressures that push employees to snap.

She's young and thinks using twitter to expose GA is some kind of virtuous act. in reality its only reflects poorly on her, revealing herself to be naïve, unprofessional, and a bit cringe.

There have to be stories at MS about her

My older brother worked at MS with her (not on her team but had multiple deals together) and said she was consistently one of the top analysts (in terms of hours she put in [he called her a grinder]). Not sure how smart she was but he also said she organized a lot of analyst activities and was very approachable.

Based on that, it's tough to see how the industry jaded her.

Good luck to her when it comes to finding a good paying job in any capacity, at best she's going to get into some non profit with 70k total comp particularly going into the recession. Her biggest issue was not getting carry in PE despite earning 600k in her 20s, I wish I could be a fly on the wall when she gets new offers paying nowhere near that because no one is going to want to touch her resume with a 10 foot pole
