getting back to previous shape

i was already an alcoholic before IB. got an offer and thought it'd be fine since i wouldnt get much time out of the office so whatever. and then came covid. wfh turned me into a hardcore alcoholic, serious benders starting at friday night (not really lol) until sunday morning and whatever. munchies from marijuana didnt help either. all in all im a fat fuck now (not really fat but noticeable specially due to how i used to look before. its definitely a shock to people who havent seen me in like 6+ months). my new years resolution is to start drinking like a normal person again and get back to at least my previous weight, if not better than that. is just a diet enough? do i need to slip some exercise into my routine? after some family members called me out on it, reality set in and im hell bent on gettin thin again. any tips are welcome thx.

Steps:

Sounds like you need some therapy. Please seek one. Figure out why you're an alcoholic.

Quickest way to burn calories: Install Couch to 5k. It's an amazing app that sets a running schedule and gets you in shape to run 3 miles after 2 months. (You can take longer if you like). Look up videos on breathing, and most importantly stretching. Stretching is paramount with running, same with breathing. Also important to have good running shoes (no need to spend more than 100, but maybe buying 200 dollar running shoes will motivate you to start running).
