Going to sell side from buy side (ex. PE to IB)
We are familiar with the exit ops of going from let's say IB to PE. Are there people that have done the reverse? Is there a legit reason to do so? Do you regret it?

I’m only an intern but it’s very likely I will be able to go full time at the PE firm I’m interning at post graduation, but I want to switch over to investment banking. I want more of an advisory role while still working on transactions, I don’t
see myself as an investor, also I want client exposure
So why are you going into PE? Just recruit FT for IB. Assuming you aren’t at a UMM/MF, pay will be better in IB and you will get exposure to IB sooner. Also, IB FT recruiting isn’t that hard, especially if you have finance experience.
