Goldman Sachs IBD Knowledge Management Team

I want to know if anybody has worked in GS IBD's Knowledge Management team. From what I have heard, it's an industry specialist role with no deal staffing. For somebody aspiring to get into banking with a non-target background, how lucrative is this opportunity? Also, are there any chances of converting into a front office role through this team?
