Goldman stops testing for weed?

Any truth to this, preferably from recent hires? Curious to see how this all changes as marijuana is more widely accepted

If they want, they can get around it by doing what you said. However, I see no reason why they would. They don't test for the fun of it. They test because of some combination of hard and soft rules . . I forget exactly if its FINRA, or just the client market expectation for a certain level of drug testing, or both . . but one way or another, they don't spend the money and energy on testing because its something they want to do. Or said differently: if given a valid excuse for not testin, they won't test.

The law (and all city/state laws) will apply to anyone who employs people in the city, regardless of where their HQ is. Other than maybe some areas of tax law, its safe to assume a company's foreign HQ will never be a factor in determining whether a given US/city/state law applies to them.

So, do you really think most banks even give 3 weeks notice? Most times, you get an email telling you that you have 5 days to complete a drug test with no prior warning. When do people receive these emails? Anywhere from immediately post-offer to the day you start working.

So yeah. Not 3 weeks.

"Most times, you get an email telling you that you have 5 days to complete a drug test with no prior warning"

Firstly, most times? Based on what? Your incoming intern experience?

Secondly, giving you a 5-day notice is giving you prior notice lol

Thirdly, by law, they are obligated to give you a minimum 10 business days notice.
