Got screwed over for superday, what now?

So long story short, I got invited to a super day by a BB but couldn't attend because I'm doing my off-cycle intership internationally right now.

Reached out to the recruiter, she was nice about it and asked for my availability for a phone interview instead. However, she never got back to me. I sent her a email to follow up, no reply.. Sent one to her colleague, she said she'll look into it, also didnt get back to me.

This was two days ago, should I cut my losses and move on? Any idea why they did this?

Someone who knows more about this should chime in some time, but in the mean time, I guess I could conjecture a thing or two.

Afaik, there's no replacement for a super day with respect to BBs. They're basically required. If you can't attend, I don't think they'll make real effort to accommodate you unless you're a very, very special candidate (which is unlikely at the entry level, where differentiation is difficult). Most likely, they just filled your slot in with someone they view as equally qualified and equally enthusiastic.

Further down the line, if they still have room for more hires, they might invite you to another super day - that is, if they're still interested.

This might not be what you want to hear, but I think that's the reality. Whether you should "cut your losses" or not depends on how much you'd like a place at the firm. What I would do is continue to pursue other leads while keeping this one slightly warm with some maintenance every now and then.

Best of luck.

I'm not so sure about that. In my own personal experience, the bank I interviewed for bent over backwards to reschedule my superday not once, not twice, but three times. I think OP still has a chance and should maybe follow up on the colleague that he emailed but I don't think they'd just ghost him.

Put the recruiter on blast (politely of course). Find out who the recruiter's direct boss is and email them stating that you had tried to follow up twice about your phone interview but to no avail, and wanted to move things up the chain to see if there was still an opportunity for an interview. Express your high interest in the position etc etc.

Either her boss will email you directly, shit will roll downstream and the recruiter will get back in touch, or nothing will happen at which point you've done your best and move on.

Sadly I never got a hold of her boss' email (the guy who interviewed me for the first round). Seriously though, fuck this bank. Least they could do is tell me what's going on.

I was in a similar situation. Am studying abroad and marked that on an my application. Got invited for a superday that was a few days away, and asked about travel reimbursement internationally on such short notice since they didn't specify in the initial email, or if they couldn't do it, maybe do the interview at an international office nearby. Basically, their response was that they had a separate superday for candidates abroad that they mistakenly didn't invite me for, and due to compliance issues, they couldn't invite me to the superday and withdrew my application so rip. I suspect this is the same bank you had an interview with and their HR department is notoriously bad

This is happening to me except I'm not abroad. The HR suggested two dates. I replied that I was available on both days. I never got confirmation for the superday. I'm still wondering why the HR is ignoring my emails?! I suspect this is the same BB that's screwing me over. How are you going to invite me for a superday but don't confirm the dates?
