GPA / Percentage Inquiries from Canadian Student

I'm a student at Western University entering my second year looking to land a role in investment banking. I don't have many upper year mentors I can speak to so posting here. At Western, we only receive a percentage average but all resumes i've seen out there have a GPA on a 4.0 scale. I know there's websites out there that convert it but they're not officially from my school so i don't know if it counts. I guess I have two main questions here: 1. Is it acceptable to just write percentage and will firms recognize that that's just how my school works? 2. If not, is there a standardized conversion or is it just the common one I find from external websites

In the US:

A-/A = 90 - 100% which is usually 90/95 or 90/93 at most schools. Some schools have an A+ but that is very rare. Dw about it. B+ = 87 - 89% B = 83 - 86% B- = 80 - 82% C+/C/C- = 70 - 79% D+/D/D- = 60 - 69% The same format for C and D. Any grade lower than 60% is an F.

Note a B- and above is a 3.0 on the GPA scale.

DO NOT overstate your GPA because firms WILL reject your application.

Americans will use semester hours for courses and GPA pts. for each class but as an Canadian they will look at your average.

The way most firms will calculate your GPA is simply by using 80% as a 3.0 and 100% as 4.0. Everything else moves in increments.

For example, if your GPA is 82% it will convert as approximately 3.1.

I hope this helps. The American calculation makes it easier to get an average GPA but harder to get a high GPA of 3.7+ as a Canadian.
