Graduating Undergrad in 3 Years -> Masters Program: How to Recruit for IB?

Hi everyone,

I hope you're having a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to the new year!

As the title suggests, I’m seeking advice on breaking into IB given my unique circumstances. I’m currently attending a small T20 university located in Texas with a relatively new undergraduate business program (you can probably guess which one). Although I’m part of the matriculating class of 2027, I’m on track to graduate a year early in spring 2026.

On campus, I’m highly involved as a student-athlete and an active member of various business clubs. Professionally, I’ve been fortunate to gain experience through two internships, both in real estate - one in brokerage/asset management and the other at a REPE firm. While I’ve appreciated these opportunities, I’m not necessarily set on real estate. I’d prefer to avoid being "pigeonholed" into real estate early in my career and would like to keep my options open in a more generalist role with groups like TMT, Consumer/Retail, or a generalist/M&A role.

Post-graduation, I plan to pursue a master’s program (one or two years) at a school with stronger ties to NYC to better position myself for recruitment into IB roles there. Since I have remaining athletic eligibility and my scholarship covers my education, I’m fully committed to this path.

Given my accelerated timeline and unique background, I’d greatly appreciate any advice on positioning myself for IB, particularly on navigating recruiting as a master’s student. Any insights or tips would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance!
