Heard culture is great and def not sweaty like MOE/LAZ for instance

Not sure about culture/comp, but exits are usually awesome (mostly UMM with some MFs) because of the level of responsibility analysts assume and the firm's legacy

Comp: Bonuses two years ago for AN1 were 70-90k; Last year it was around 60-85k, so overall the comp is above street but not quite at CVP/PJT level

Exits: Small class size, so the % of analysts heading to buy-side is large. Recent exits were to places like Sixth Street, Lindsay Goldberg, Permira, Centerbridge, Ares, Oaktree, and Silver Lake. So you'll have a shot at MFs but it will mostly be UMM. Overall, your exits are going to be the same as other EBs like LAZ/MOE, but not as good as PJT RSSG/EVR M&A

Culture: Very down to earth with no face time culture. You won't get worked like a dog compared to places such as LAZ/MOE, so that's a value proposition that GHL always had (applicable mainly to the M&A team, the RX team might be a little sweaty)

I think RX group has bit of a sweaty culture, not toxic just long hours

Agreed. You'll get worked in the RX group but your experience there is going to be top-notch

how bad are the hours? Other than that, is the culture ok?

Exit opps there were always strong, there was another post about this recently and people often moved to great firms

How come exits are strong when everyone here says that they have been on a decline for like a decade?

Quality of juniors exiting does not necessarily equal quality of seniors bringing in revenue. At times they might be correlated (seniors bring in deals and analysts learn from it) but these days with recruiting so early, often times deal experience might not matter as much.

Culture there is pretty good from what I've heard. For sure not a sweaty place, but the RX group is known to get worked at times due to the MDs involved.

Exits have always been great. You will get looks from all firms, from MM to MF, but as always it will also depend on your background etc.
