Group only pitches

Title says it all. I feel like trapped. Actually all my co-workers do. Had no idea that my bank split coverage and execution teams like two separate worlds.

I do get involved in project emails, and get to see work products from the execution team.

I have the same issue. Trying to lateral now but I’m pretty fucked. It is difficult. If I could go back in time, I would focus on jumping on any modeling or meaningful projects and also lateral before being analyst 2. You will be competing against kids coming in as analyst 1 and have better chances of moving vs someone who is analyst 3, the first question I get is how many deals have you executed? Who executes the deals in your bank?

It is borderline craziness since my group only pitches --- the execution team handles the paperwork while the sector/industry team handles the modeling. All my group get is seeing all the emails, including paperwork and all that details, flowing between parties.

What's your plan here? Mine is lateral after I hit the 1 year mark...
