GS Industrials NYC Culture

Incoming summer analyst. I used search function and it said it’s sweaty and toxic, but what separates it from the other gs groups in that regard? How is the culture among the juniors? Fratty, nerdy, hardo, button-up, unhinged? I’d think when none of the seniors care about you the juniors end up getting pretty close. Curious to hear any details people have.

Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights into the culture at GS Industrials NYC:

  • Sweaty and Toxic: The group is known for having a demanding work environment, which can be more intense compared to other GS groups.
  • Junior Culture: The culture among juniors can vary, but given the high-pressure environment, juniors often form close bonds to support each other. This camaraderie can be a silver lining in an otherwise tough setting.
  • Characteristics: The group might not have a single defining characteristic like "fratty" or "nerdy," but the intense workload suggests a serious, hard-working atmosphere. The lack of senior engagement might push juniors to rely on each other more, fostering a sense of unity.
