Pay: all three pay in line with street for SA but pay above street FT. Pay is good.

Exits: I know for a fact that all three places get looks from the relevant headhunters (ones that place for MFs) and MF exits have happened in recent years, but generally exits are MM/UMM. Lots of great names that they’ve exited to, but MF exits are rarer. Again, as these places get the relevant HH looks, the trend may be more a measure of of analyst quality / experience as well as alum presence than a lacking of firm prestige in the eyes of HHs. But lots of exits ppl would kill for.

Culture: PWP and GHL have much smaller analyst classes, whereas Gugg has a larger analyst class, and culture appropriately varies. Everyone I’ve spoken to who interned at these places really enjoyed the internship experience - you’ll see a lot of fun intern activities at all three that come with the younger, more boutique vibe these places give off. It’s more a matter of if you prefer the culture that comes with more co-interns or a smaller group.

“Ranking:” the above intern poster is a classic case of a college kid giving shitty advice. he just looked on WSO and found people talking about how great TMT/HC is at Gugg and “GHL going downhill” and is regurgitating shitty advice. Truth is all three places are great experiences with really sharp analysts and technical recruiting processes. All shops have established RX platforms, and in our current environment you’re going to see a lot of cross-platform experience which is really cool. If you get all three offers I recommend you speak with people at all three shops and choose the place that you resonate with the most culturally, as well as consider what type of intern culture and work you want to do during your summer
