H1B Sponsorship And OPT

I'm an international student majoring in Econ so I'll get 2 years of OPT after I graduate, but I know that needing to get sponsored for an H1B makes recruiting way harder so I was wondering if I still need an employer to sponsor me during the 2 year OPT or if I can basically be treated like an American until my OPT expires and I need to shoot for H1B.

There are hundreds of universities who publish this information on their international student offices’ website.

And you need this info spoon-fed to you. People like you give international students a bad name.

Fair enough Googled it, I won't need sponsorship during the OPT.

Here's a question thats a bit tougher to Google though:

Eventhough I won't need sponsorship during the OPT, lots of IB roles specifically ask if I'll need sponsorship now or at any point in the future. Can I answer no in good faith if I plan on getting my GC through investment after my OPT expires, meaning I really won't need sponsorship at all?

You still need to put yes as it’s asking for your current immigrant status. Also investment is not guaranteed GC rn

I’m thinking of doing it too, but I think it boils down to whether the project you invest in whether yourself or through the approved agency is successful? Also my friend’s attempt failed like last year.
