Has Evercore Fallen Off? (Exits)

Clickbait title. Incoming @ Evercore and wanted to ask a mind-numbing question.

Evercore seems to be taking a ridiculous number of Summer Analysts and is growing at an insane pace relative to just a few years ago, and has formerly known to be the best place for MF PE placement among the EBs (exclude PJT RSSG for this). RX remains relatively small compared to M&A, and obviously, the deal flow is amazing (possibly the best they've ever had), but would the S-tier exits still hold from EVR M&A?

There's no way the quality of candidates could remain up to par with this many Summer Analysts, right?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Evercore's reputation for strong exits, particularly from its M&A group, still holds up well. Despite concerns about the firm's rapid growth and increased class sizes, Evercore continues to produce solid exits to megafunds (MF) and upper middle market (UMM) private equity firms. Analysts from Evercore M&A have consistently landed at top-tier firms like Apollo, KKR, Warburg Pincus, and others, which reinforces its position as a top choice for buyside recruiting.

However, there are valid concerns about the potential dilution of candidate quality due to the larger analyst classes and the firm's aggressive expansion. Some WSO threads highlight that the quality of interns and analysts may not be as high as it once was, and the increased size could impact the personalized experience and selectivity that Evercore was once known for. Additionally, the culture and analyst experience have reportedly shifted, with less transparency in recruiting and fewer firm events.

That said, Evercore's alumni network and established pipelines to MF and UMM PE remain among the strongest in the industry. While the rapid growth might introduce challenges, the firm's deal flow and reputation for exits still make it a top-tier destination for those targeting elite buyside opportunities.
