Help, landed Fund Finance for my Summer Analyst and seeking advice

I was placed into Fund Finance within a bank’s IBD division. I was hoping for coverage, but I’ve genuinely liked everyone I’ve met so far, and it feels like the group had some pull in my placement. I’m committed to doing well and thinking long-term.

Would love input on:

  • Typical analyst responsibilities and learning curve in Fund Finance, how can I lock in a return offer
  • Since Fund Finance feels a bit more process driven (the clients are kind of too sophisticated to need advice) how exposed are junior seats to AI
  • Similarly, the product area is somewhat niche and seems to have some regulatory concerns. Is there a world where the product disappears overnight?
  • How people have successfully leveraged Fund Finance into other roles (examples would be great)
  • Anything I’m not asking that I should be. Or is there a question I asked that might indicate to you that I have some misunderstanding.
  • Finally, it feels worth noting that a bank I recruited with last year invited me to recruit full-time with the understanding the spot would be mine to lose. How would you weigh Tech M&A at a sweatshop with BB Fund Finance?

Im in the same boat for wells. Seems that not only did they fuck over ppl for group placement (seems like they want lots of interns in FF, guess they wanna expand), but they also changed their comp structure. Pretty bummed.
