HELP Needed - Convertibles Banking Exit Opps

I’m going into a convertibles / equity-linked banking seat at a mid-tier BB and I’m kind of panicking about exits.

Is this seat actually useful for anything after two years? Can I move to a normal IB group, corp dev, credit, investing, anything? Or am I basically stuck in a super niche product forever?

I know it’s still banking, but I’m worried I picked something too random and that everyone in M&A / coverage / LevFin will have way better options. Am I cooked or is this still a solid place to start?

Basically: will I be fine, or did I mess up badly?

At the bulge bracket I was at, you’d see capital markets analysts transition into coverage groups after 2 years, do a year in a coverage group, then go to PE. Could try a similar pivot
