help!! PWP vs Barclays London

Got an offer from Barclays and Perella Weinberg Partners, both FT positions in London. Would like to exit to a PE/VC focused on Infra/energy after a few years. Any thoughts of which one to choose?

PWP advised on E.on and RWE, MSIP on Telecolombus, Veolia/Suez... And they have an energy branch, TPH, that also has a small team in London

Did Barclays london even open for 2021 FT analyst? I thought they didn’t...

May not be what you want to hear, but just my two cents. You should go to the place you like more and feel like you'll get more experience. The WSO perception of exit opps is largely false for London recruiting. At both firms you should get some looks and what's more important is how YOU perform during recruiting rather than the team you're in.
If you go to one firm simply due to perceived exit opps (especially considering they're viewed not dissimilarly on the street) despite liking the other firm more, you may regret that decision.

I also think you should ask yourself the boutique vs BB question.

This is very true and was what I came on here for.

Consider the pure M&A vs M&A & Financing, strenghts in the team you are interested in, the culture and work hours for these banks/teams. Also consider the likely hood of you getting placed into a team that does what you are interested in. As far as I know PWP is non existant in PUI, and Energy is not one of their strenghts, Barclays has a decent PUI franchise and a good energy one... Both will allow you to exit where you want.

Yeah you're right! I think the problem here is that both firms have very good cultures, PWP has a very cool rotational programme, and Barclays has more internal mobility possibilities
