HL Capital Solutions Group
Wanted to get some insight on the Capital Solutions Group at HL. Seems like the group is fairly new and was wondering how it stands amongst peers and what potential exits would be. Any information on culture would be great too
this is their private placement, fundraising and secondaries groups merged together. think if you merged PCA+Capital markets groups all into one. their PCA side is not as strong as the notable EB's but fundraising has some relationships and the private placement will often be named on deals alongside rx when debtors raise new debt. not sure on exits but culture and hours seem better than CF
Is the fundraising role more modeling focused on syndicating to investors?
Partially true, I‘m at HL and I would describe Capital Solutions as an umbrella for:
1) Debt/LevFin Advisory
2) Equity Private Placements Advisory
3) Private Funds Advisory
Obviously, depending on which team you're in, your experience and work in CS will differ heavily
what do VPs, SVPs, and Directors do on teams? Does each deal team have all 3? way more levels than other firms
SVP is being phased out. They eliminated the SVP role so now it’s just VP -> Director but there are still some SVPs left over from the old promotion ladder.
Would think most deal teams are MD + D/VP + AS + AN but it’s varies.
