Anyone worked/ interned/ interviewed the IB depatmemt of ING? Is it good in terms of reputation, deal experience, salary, prospect, and exit opportunities? For me, I think ING is a famous bank but not sure for IB, the interview exp. is very good and chill. So is it good to stay in ING if I wanna develop a career in IB? Feel free to discuss monkeyssss

If this is in regards to US operations they don’t really have much IB operations here. Mostly operates as a corporate bank and is lending heavy. Pretty much most of their business. They also focus on sustainable lending and that’s their niche. They pretty much get added to deals here by companies that operate in the the Netherlands just need to keep a friendly relationship and so ING supports these companies in their home market. Very risk averse so no/very little levfin and not sure about M&A. I assume they would advise on Dutch companies here but not many really to see much action. I will say it’s a very chill environment and standard hours. Certainly not IB though so exit ops would be limited to another CB role at a European operation. Think SocGen, Credit ag, BNP possibly.

Basically no IB in the US, stronger internationally (UK/Europe and especially Netherlands, they bought the remains of Barings). Their Corporate Finance/M&A group is like 5 people and don't touch a lot of live work. As above mentioned, most of their work is in corporate banking, DCM, levfin. You will get very good WLB if you just want to chill there but pay is basically bottom of the street. Take into account long time to promotion and not that great culture (lots of middle aged Europeans), I'd advise you to take an offer elsewhere if you get one.
for the lending group, do they offer summer analyst programs? I assume you could get away with finding someone in the lending group who is swamped and doing some sort of unofficial trainee/internship program?
