They take 20 sophomores in NY and probably a couple for SF. Not sure about other offices. If you aren't diversity and go to a top tier private school, you don't have much of a chance

At minimum, you'll have a web of contacts for junior recruiting that have already talked to you before interviews.

Look at BAML and Citi sophomore programs too, they have another 20-30 sophomore spots each

Yes dawg, go look at other Soph SA threads. I’m sure things will be posted as programs open up for apps. RBC opened their soph SA2021 program/scholarship already

All BB sophomore programs take around 20-30 kids for IB (Barclays takes about 5 and only through Modernguild in previous years). Citi sophomore internship is rotational between IB, S&T, and corporate banking so you really only get 3 weeks in IB in a normal 10 week internship

Just wanted to clarify this comment, Citi SLP(the sophomore program) isnt just IB/S&T/Corp banking. It is all of ICG, so no guarantee you will get IB for even 3 weeks. The rotation could be private bank/capital markets/research for example. SLP is around 40 kids and has slowly been growing. Fairly meritocratic process despite emphasis on target schools.

Also, Barclays sophomore has not just been modernguild in previous years, thats just one way to apply. It is also most likely the most competitive BB to get a sophomore position at by far, summer 2020 is less than 5 kids in IB across every US office and interviews are harder for sophomores compared to juniors. Class sizes have been rapidly shrinking, no point in applying unless you know MDs.

Neither Barclays nor Citi sophomore programs are diversity-only.

Do you know if they take non-diversity candidates from top targets (H/W)?

Pretty tough to get into GS but there are always a handful of nondiversity(think under 5) at each BB in IB, usually ridiculous resume in addition to extreme networking or family connection

They probably meant firm wide. I know its 20 for IBD NY, HR told me last summer. Around 2-5 for SF and 1-2 for Dallas. Maybe they take sophomores for CHI, LA, and HOU but I am not sure on that. I know they take sophomores for S&T and their PE team (personally met a kid in the group)

Friend is an IB soph intern for 2020, can confirm they take about 20 IBD NY (across Classic and Financing)
