how much does being jacked help with breaking in?

How much does being jacked, and shredded might I add, help in breaking in? I am at a target, for context, but want to do anything that will tilt the favors in my direction (think: gaining indirect respect from guys 20 years my senior -- not sure if this is actually true). Unfortunately, my height would be considered "semi-target", if you will pardon the metaphor.

Just a personal anecdote, every time I was interviewed and a dude would ask me what my interests are outside of school/professional goals, I’d always bring up the fact that I weight-lift 5-6 times a week and those interviews always went the best.

This post sounds like a troll but I can’t imagine that there’s only upside rather than downsides.

low bf, more muscles, better skin, overall better physique and looks/health make people assume you are a good candidate. you have an easier time standing out compared to skinny/fat/unhealthy looking candidates. Also: leaner people usually look younger, more active, less tired, better.

but the rest has to be competitive as well, school/program, gpa, previous jobs, results, ..

The biggest hurdles we conquer at the gym are the mental ones, not the physical challenges. If you can bench 300lbs, it is assumed you can handle the challenges at work also.
