How to Calculate EBITDA-CapEx Interest Coverage Ratio for Apple for Fiscal Year 2019?
Can someone please show me how to calculate the EBITDA-CapEx Interest Coverage Ratio for Apple for the fiscal year 2019 from the 10K? So far, I've calculated EBITDA at $81,860 Million, and I've attempted to calculate CapEx by taking the 2019 property, plant, and equipment value of $37,378 Million from the balance sheet – the 2018 property, plant, and equipment value of $41,304 Million from the balance sheet + the 2019 Depreciation and amortization value of $12,547 Million from the cash flow statement, which has given me $8,621 Million for CapEx. I then divided EBITDA by CapEx and ended up with 9.5x, but I'm sure this is completely wrong.
Amortization does not relate to property plant and equipment, but goodwill/licenses/etc. Is there no cash flow statement ?
When I look at the cash flow statement I don't see depreciation by itself without amortization. Am I missing it? Do I need to separate it from depreciation somehow?
It's (EBITDA - Capex) / Interest Expense.
What you are doing is EBITDA / Capex.
Capex is in the CFS, and is 10,495. It is sometimes listed as "Payments for acquisition of property, plant and equipment", not Capex.
