How to find Comparable Companies for Private Companies?
I know for Public Companies you can find comparable companies on Bloomgberg, Capital IQ, Factset or go to the 10-Ks to find its competitors, but how about for Private Companies? I will be interning at a Boutique Investment Bank that deals with Private Companies and not public.

I think you mean an illiquidity discount. “Discount premium” makes no sense.

Yeah it’s just “discount” and “premium” are antonyms, it’s like saying you’re going to “decrease increase” the price
I have never seen this textbook concept used in real life and surely is not the answer to the post. I’m pretty sure no one has a pre set discount they apply everytime they deal with private comps, and either way that wouldn’t be the intern’s job. It’s the seniors who refine the valuation in that sense
