This is more of an indication of the times we live in currently, tolerance on the floor will be less and minor things will be blown out of proportion

So, here are some thoughts
1/ long term you may have to move out of this place so start making some plans (networking, learn fast, deal creds, story)
2/ you are likely not going to make top bucket this year, best if you could make mid bucket
3/ start small, the next pitch book, the next call notes should be nothing short of perfect
4/ the best thing you can do is show up early and leave late, that’s the most visible way to show you have taken the advise
5/ People esp seniors do keep an eye out for people who show positive action from feedback
6/ the cherry on the cake will be go above and beyond, help on recruiting, backfill for a 2nd year analyst or an ASO when she/he is off or unable to cope
7/ it will take a solid three months for them to start getting comfortable with you again, excluding December this will be end of Feb,
8/ before the x-mas break, have one on one with the staffer and have a chat on ur progress, mention all the good things that you have done
9/ after every book talk to the aso or may be the vp and see what you could have done better

The above advise is not just about keeping this job but also a good thing to keep in mind since you are just starting your career

Ofcourse you can say fuck it and bitch on the senior but believe me that’s not an attitude which will get you anywhere in ur career or life

Went thru the same shit my first year under a piece of shite vp. Can’t ignore it but would definitely look for other opportunities whether in IB or PE.

Or you can ruin your life proving him wrong

Please tell me - are you at JPM? I feel like I have heard these exact same 'complains' for a few people now. I think Jamie wants his warriors working harder...

Basically OP has been on the desk for 2 months. Getting crushed on staffings (some not even theirs because they don’t push back). Upset the team because of unresponsiveness due to taking a nap on a WFH day at lunch after pulling consecutive 4am’s. Also doesn’t come in at the same time as the early bird analyst (but not late) so the VP thinks they have a tardiness problem and told them “you need to get it together or we are going to have a problem” or something like that.
