How to fix/update accidental #DIV/0 errors in Excel?
Hi guys:
I’m updating a model template where I accidentally changed some numbers to 0, now a large section of linked cells are showing up as #DIV/0.
I’ve tried to undo the action - the numbers went back to the old values, but the #DIV/0 cells remained to be #DIV/0. I’ve also tried to recalculate the worksheet, but that didn’t fix it either... I googled the issue but didn’t see any solutions.
Would anyone happen to know how to fix this please? They shouldn’t be #DIV/0s anymore but somehow the numbers are not updating...
Thank you
Probably circular reference in your model (might be on purpose, for instance interest calculation). See if there is a cell called 'Circ' in your model, set it to 0 and than back to 1.
If not, than there is no other option than to manually break the circ ref and remodel it. Make sure iterative calculations is switched on in the options (alt, f, t, down to formulas, tab, tab, space, esc)
Or just use your mouse.
Make sure iterative calculations are turned on then hit Shift+F9 repeatedly. If this doesn't work and you can't undo out of it, you may need to re-open the workbook. This happens sometimes on the development model I built so I make sure to repeatedly save my progress every 10 minutes or so.
Thank you everyone!
