cold email bunch of random regional boutiques around ur school. do a wm internship at ubs if nothing works out. leverage that for a sophomore fall internship at a boutique. If you have enough clubs & that wm internship on ur resume it will be enough leverage to land one as a sophomore.

They pretty much take anyone with a pulse for wealth management internships

They’re referring to independent WM internships with independent UBS “groups”, not the corporate WM programs. MS and BAML WM are also possibilities.

Large wealth management firms such as UBS organize advisors into teams formally called “groups” that jointly manage clients and responsibilities. Each group runs independently of the overall firm and decides day to day activities under the custody and brand name of the overall firm. If you go to Google Maps and search wealth management, you'll likely find a couple examples that you can reach out to for internships. These roles tend to be much more informal than the "corporate" WM programs ran by the respective firms which are instead ran by HR and focused on rotations across different teams or functions to feed into full time employment.
