How to keep up with OTHER banks as an upcoming SA
Hey all,
Incoming SA at an NY IB; long story short I made some strong connections at other banks during recruitment. I understand the summer internship is a two way interview—they’re seeing if I’m a good fit for them, and I’m seeing if they’re a good fit for me.
I would like to keep my contacts with other banks warm—not just because I think it could be helpful to move if I don’t like my firm, but also because they were good mentors. Thing is, not really sure what to reach out about?
Also—I’m not trying to “move up.” I’m very happy with my current bank so far, and if anything, the banks I’m trying to stay in contact with would be seen as a “step down” by “prestige”
Thank you all!
You don’t have any other questions about IB that you could ask them? Can ask tips on how to convert your offer, other advice they’d give. Forget about recruiting and just look at these guys as mentors if that’s truly how you see them. It should be pretty easy to think of things to ask them. Ask if you can do check ins during ur summer to just shoot the shit with them and talk about your internship.
