. I am in another group but would like to transfer to another. How do I approach HR about the move with a shortened internship period? How does networking in the division you want help you? Will they give me an offer for their division even if all I did was talk to them?
Would love to hear of any successful attempts at this.

hard to do but try to find an analyst that did lateral from another group. Secondly, reach out to Hr about it, not entirely sure about this especially with the virtual environment. Could be seen badly.
It is possible (in normal times) and networking is required. Just make sure your offer situation is secure as a safety net.
