Yes, Yes, Yes, No, No, No, NO, Yes
unc is well represented
...where? B of A or Wachovia in Charlotte?
From what I've seen, UNC Kenan-Flagler is better represented than regular UNC
Michigan (not Ross) is not well represented on Wall Streeet?
Not at all.
From my experience (Mostly S&T)
Georgetown: Strongly Brown: Not many (probably also function of not many wanting to go to Wall Street) Yale: Moderately Michigan (not Ross): Only seen Ross and MFinEng NYU (not Stern): Only seen Stern UNC: Haven't come across any not BOA or Wachovia University of Washington: Never come accross (do you mean WUSTL??) Cornell: Strongly
Agree with Revsly, Georgetown is represented very strongly on Wall Street. At my BB, there were more Georgetown grads than any other school except Wharton. This was especially true the year above me, where I think they actually did have more than Wharton.
non ross michigan kids are hustlers, a lot of them get placement, some at great firms. I know a kid who just placed into william blair and one to jpm
I actually think UNC is pretty well represented. Maybe it's just a function of them being a large school, but I've met quite a few UNC people on Wall Street.
U of Washington places 1, maybe 2, kids on wall street every year. More of an accounting/consulting biased campus. Very under represented on wall street
UNC and UWashington are not well represented on wallstreet
Just out of curiousity because I went to one of the schools I'm about to mention and did get into IB. What's the consensus on these southern schools -
Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, University of Florida, University of Georgia
1st 4 are very well respected with Duke basically being the only target for all of the banks. Vandy is a semi-target where a couple of BB's recruit and some southern banks. Not sure if there is OCR at Ga Tech or WF but I would assume not much outside of WF/BofA Charlotte and places like Suntrust, BB&T, etc. Could be wrong though.
Duke is a massive outlier in that group. And not simply in the douchebag category.
G'town is well represented in accounting and midlevel supervisor type roles in a few non BB banks as well as the SEC, FED, etc.
Yale is the best school there and has the most representation. No one working in finance will tell you otherwise. You can get placed onto the street from Georgetown, UNC, Brown, and Cornell. The others will be tougher.
