I didn’t expect to get this far ngl

Hey! Fellas, I did it! I got a SA in NYC at a top MM shop!

I worked hard from a nontarget. I admit being diversity helped and cut down the competition pool substantially. I feel weird about how cramming how to do LBO models and DCFs just ended with very standard technical questions (on god if I get one more depreciation question I’m gonna throw hands). I had like a couple breakdowns in public bathrooms for me to get here, and its finally done! So now what?

I’m gonna be honest I have very little idea of what generalist means, or how the internship will be structured but I think it’s rotational between a few different tables. I’d really like to do LevFin or M&A. How should I approach this stuff from here?

Generalist means that you’ll spend the internships working on a variety of industries and a variety of products. Is this by any chance Jefferies? I just ask because you mentioned too MM and levfin. Jefferies is known for having a strong LevFin team. In any case, you can just ask your staffer during the internship to try and see if they can place you on stuff you’re interested in.
