I fucked up

Sup guys

I'm a freshman at a non-target in a large city (NY/CHI/LA) and I recently was suspended for getting in a fight with a student off school grounds at a party. I was allowed to finish up my semester but now I'm stuck with no school. To go along with being suspended, I sort-of messed up my GPA due to multiple factors (pledging a fraternity, getting very involved in student finance orgs, going through the hearing process which took ~2 mo) and now I'm riding at a 3.5 . I can bring it back up to a 3.7 after a semester when I'm re-instated, thank god. Also I found a pretty good internship at a small PE firm to do over this period of blank space, so that's a life-saver as well.

However, I wonder how this will fuck me for recruiting in the future. Obviously I can't apply to any places that have an extensive HR screening process this summer, but I'm just really worried about my SA 23 and 24. If this does stick on my transcript, what will happen? I'm not gunning for any BB positions, but would MM banks really care if there was a blank space (or possibly even a "suspended for conduct violation") in my transcript? I know I'll hopefully have one more internship at a boutique IB or PE firm by the time February of next year rolls around, so maybe that will overshadow my mistake? I have no fucking clue what to expect and could use a little guidance.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, if they question taking a semester off just say it was for personal reasons. Most banks don't request transcripts until doing the background check, which is after the recruiting process. Even then, as long as you can explain yourself it would be hard for me to believe they would pull an offer. Also, considering you were able to get an internship, let alone at a PE firm as a freshman during your suspension, daddy might be able to pull some more strings for you down the line.
