IB projects for breaking in

Hi All,

I am looking for an opportunity to work on some projects for boutique/start up firms to break into the investment banking world. Not necessarily get paid but hopfully good experience.

A bit of background--- I just finished a investment banking training program on DCF/Comparables/precedent transactions, M&A, leverage buyout modeling. On top of that I have two years' public accounting experience.

If anyone is interested in getting somebody to assist in their business, please contact me at [email protected]

Please feel free to comment on this way of breaking in. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you all.

not trying to be critical or anything, but i think your best shot at breaking in would be the on-campus recruiting and career office at your university. second best shot would be cold-calling alumni.

you seem qualified on paper. i dont know why you wouldnt get the job offer you want based on your qualifications, unless its something else.

He said he has 2 years of acct experience. I don't think his career center will be much help for analyst opportunities assuming he doesn't have a mba.

IMO: try to move to the valuation practice of your acct firm . And then network.

really? i am 3 yrs out of school with exp, and i still get a lot of help form my career center.

and she has a grad degree, a relevant one. but its not an mba. she would be an 'untraditional, off-season hire'.
