Similar thing happened to me. Either:

1) Ask programme coordinator if there’s another intake your firm has, e.g. January, and if you can join that cohort

2) Speak to your manager for suggestions and/or have a plan with them and your staffer to coordinate the workload and time to catch up on training

Being honest, you learn mostly on the job, but do understand why you’d feel concerned. In addition, you need to take other things into consideration, e.g, severity of the situation and how long you will and could be away for.

Hope things work out OP, take care (family and your health comes first, always).

Tbh I not sure how well asking to be put on another cohort will go down from a budget perspective either, since my manager/MD were pissed that I'm missing the training after spending the budget for me to be there. I'm really just hoping to catch up in my own time and try my best given the siutation I'm in. Thanks for the kind words though, I will be ok :)

Unfortunate situation but honestly, training is not that helpful and I don't think you're missing out on too much here... You should try to keep up as much as possible but the vast majority of the learning happens on the desk

I might use these videos + other resources to learn basic 3 statement modeling

The bigger thing you'll miss out on is the guides to firm-specific resources (i.e. presentation on formatting best practices, guide to office resources) and you should ask for the powerpoint for these things. Maybe they have an agenda they can send so you're informed

I wouldn't sweat it. My training honestly wasn't very helpful but still learned some applicable stuff. I would ask them to put you through their off-cycle training (they most likely have one if it's a BB). I was an off-cycle hire at my BB and I went to training for a few weeks in January even though I had already been working for about three months.
