If YoUr rEaDIng This It’s TOO Late

For those of you who received SA/ FT offers this year and last, make sure you take full advantage of this opportunity. Let me be the first to tell you that you have been given an opportunity. For reasons outside of our control many of us were pushed aside to make way for your candidacy, and whether we like it or not, you were deemed worthy of the position. But make no mistake about it: your success from here on out is entirely dependent on you. For some of you, you have earned it through hard work, dedication, maybe even some personal sacrifice. Kudos to you. However,  There are a few of you who are probably telling yourself that you are lucky, and believe me, you are. Take full advantage of it, for there are hundreds, if not thousands, of us this year (and in previous years) who have seen the opportunity pass us by far to often. Before you complain and vent your frustration about  long work hours, outrageous demands, ever increasing deadlines, switching of priorities, your mental health, physical well being, lack of sleep, and whatever bs  these vacuums try to solicit from you in an effort to bring transparency/awareness about a job you  signed up for, recognize that there are others who view your candidacy and future employment with equal vitriol. Who see those mountains of transgression as merely speed bumps. To know that some of you are merely using this opportunity as a platform for your PE/VC/MMF exit, which if not already secured will quickly be pursued once you realize what we already know, that you aren’t cut out for this shit. It is irritating to the rest of us to say the least.  Let this be a warning to all of you that the rest of us are waiting for your exit. We are hungry, foaming at the mouth, beyond frustrated, and in disbelief that the opportunity will have to wait. Congratulations, you somehow beat consensus.  But please believe, in 6months, when recruiting starts up again, and your staffing leads have to start thinking about the next batch of replacements we will see how deep that love is for you. When shit starts hitting that fan, and your good isn’t good enough, or when you gotta start producing, and an MD’s shop is hinging on your production, we know that you will fold under that pressure. Let the record show that your firm will not feel sorry for you at all. For some of us, we have been molded by that pressure, and your bank passed on us for you. Please believe when they find out that diamond in the rough wasn’t made from pressure or high expectations but from smiling emoji’s and virtue signaling posts on LinkedIn about the excitement about your next journey, just know we see you and we don’t feel sorry for you. Do us all a favor and fucking kill it. Prove to us that there is no debate that you are the superior candidate. Secure that spot and see to it that we don’t see your job posted in 18 months and  that your selection was warranted. Otherwise, start freshen up that resume.

Sincerely,

your future replacement
