I'm done

Not much to be said; not looking for pity; I just want to let it out somewhere (too embarrassed to share with ppl around me). I've pretty much struck out of all the firms that recruit from my semi-target school, and it doesn't make it much easier I'm a non-diverse international.

Just seeing all the people around me land insane offers while I've failed to break into ANY bb/eb has honestly fucking killed me. I've had my fair share of first rounds, and even a killer superday at my dream office last week, but I really don't know where to go from here now that most intern classes are filled.

Honestly, I feel most sorry for my parents, especially now that my career ceiling is the same as if I just stayed home instead of wasting tens of thousands aboard. Fuck this shit

Things might look bleak now, but trust me. You’ll look back on this moment in 10 years and laugh and be a completely different person.

if you truly want IB, which I promise you nowadays there are a ton of other good options for careers, find an internship or career that is parallel in nature to IB and switch over after a year (think corp dev, financial analyst, big 4, equity research). Or you’ll end up doing some career, do your MBA and figure out there are a ton of other paths out there maybe money doing all kinds of things.

Best advice I can give you is work hard wherever you’re at and random opportunities you never thought might happen will. Life will take you in crazy directions you never thought possible.

crazy how kids are posting about completely striking out on SA '23 and its only may. I got my offer for '22 in October bro, didn't start recruiting until like July/August.

Don’t give up man - I got into IB as a non-diverse international 8 months into when I actually started interviewing with firms for the first time. Went through my fair share of roller coasters but never gave up. The grit was what helped me cross the finish line when I got an offer from a great group. You got this - you’ll miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

Sorry dude but you sound like a fing loser, what are you the first person to go through this? No, are you the first person posting here crying like a baby, No. Get you stuff together, the world is full of ups and downs and your experience is just that experience. Idiots cry about it, backbone carriers, step up into a stronger gear.

If my comments are harsh, the get over it. Use this to motivate yourself or get of the board so someone else more determined can take your place. No snowflakes allowed!

SafariJoe, wins again!

perhaps ur right, but even so, tf am i supposed to do? what would you do? and that's a genuine question cuz most recruitment cycles r over and intern class r full
