Internationals' London IB recruiting experiences?

Really wanted to hear about the recruiting experiences of internationals in London/Europe IB. How big a problem was the visa issue? A while ago there was a post asking about internationals' experiences in the US. I was wondering if anyone could share similar insights for London/Europe, preferably from the perspective of someone who did their MSc Fin/MiM from a top tier European college.

I suppose that landing client facing roles in continental Europe needs you to be native-level fluent in the local language? I'm native only in English, so I suppose London might be the best option. What do opportunities outside of IB i.e. in S&T, ER, Consulting, Corp Dev etc. look like?

international at a non-target, successfully recruited for many BBs SA. my only advice for you, would be if you re an international student then just study in the UK. it would make things easier. Also if you are diversity, use it to attend events

No problem at all for me (non EU international at target). Not a factor at all in spring week interviews and summer role. Similar for most of my international friends

At a UK target for undergrad and experience in London IB

Don’t see why not but probably best to target UK programs if looking at London (especially with the 2 year post study work visa introduced too which gives you time to do SAs/OCs and does not mean FT or bust)

Yes, sorry, let me be a bit more specific.

Most people got offers in London, although I also know about some non-Europeans ending up in France/Germany/Switzerland. I have no clue about visas on the continent, but in my experience it's not a big deal in London.

My point about languages: knowing a European language is definitely a plus for IBD in London, although not knowing one will not put you at a disadvantage. If you know, say, Arabic, that can also be quite useful.

Is there some general rule that you can't do an SA unless you have one year of college left? So people in a one year masters can't do a SA after graduating?
