Internship advice - Switching from IB to PE.

First time poster,

UK target (2nd year on a 4 year course) student here, currently interning at a (no name)'Corporate Finance' boutique (5-20 employees) (basically a business broker selling business with EV £5-50m or helping startups do their fundraising). What I do is fairly boring and itself the analysts jobs is boring as well as transactions are very basic and involve very little modelling. My main responsibilities are finding industries data and present it in power point (such as industries M&A activity, similar transactions and multiples), this requieres a lot of time as most of these transactions are not making the headlines of the FT/WJS and we do not have access to Capital IQ, Mergermarket, pitchbook or any tool like this, most of my findings comes from reading consultancies reports. I have to set excel lists of potential buyers/investors as well. Been doing this for over a month now, my classes start again at the end of September. I do not plan to return there and people working there have never been working at Big bank, hence I could burn this bridge without worrying too much (+my VP is a dickhead).

This internship is supposed to last over the summer, however I am currently interviewing for an other internship in PE (£500k-10m deals). Once again the deal size wont change that much, however I think that PE deals will have a more complex capital structure, hence I would learn more on the job, and hopefully they will let me do more than just industry research. They are recruiting due to a high increase (unexpected) in deal flow, hence I assume I would be give some responsabilities. Changing would allow me to have 2 experiences on my CV (pretty blank atm) as I feel I have learnt as much as I could.

Do you think that changing would be a good idea or not? Open to any suggestion or advices. Salary wise PE pays a bit more (albeit not my main motivation).

TLDR - Changing from IB (£5-50m) to PE (£500k-10m) over the summer
