Investment Management vs. IB
Wrapping up the first semester of college, I am getting ready to apply to some of the workshops that my school has. (Kelley Undergrad). I plan on applying to the Investment Management workshop instead of the IB Workshop. According to the site the "Investment Management Workshop is an exclusive program that prepares students to compete for summer and full-time positions in security research, sales, trading, and private wealth management positions in sell-side and buy-side institutions."
Not 100% sure what this is really referring to. I am thinking that the end goal for me is venture capital, but I was wondering what positions in Security Research and PWM are typically available for first years. I think the placement out of the workshop is solid because one of the older guys in my frat is at Jeffries S&T NY.
Anyone have any advice about what I could be looking at after school with a workshop that focuses on these topics? Any interesting firms or summer opps. I should be looking at?
Appreciate the help.
