Is anyone familiar with Brown University's COE program?

I might be attending Brown University as a class of 2015, and I am having trouble deciding what I would major in. It's between the good old BA in Economics and the COE (Commerce, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship) concentrations.

Economics is a common major, known to be relatively easier than some other ones (except for the dual mathematics/econ concentration whcih scares me). It's the classic pre-banking major, and it will no doubt provide a good degree to anyone.

The COE program is relatively new -started in 2005 - and can focus on either the tech industry or on business economics. Whichever track is taken, however, the core classes are very much a mixture of economics, sociology, engineering, and statistics. The program seems very good, but I have no clue about the rigor or reputation.

Both programs seem excellent, but I am just wondering if one is preferred over the other in recruitment? Or does it simply come down to GPA?

If it matters, I am pretty sure there are 3 to 4 times as many econ majors as there are COE. This could just be because COE is a new program.

Thanks.

I can second what arden said. Good friend of mine at Brown said all the dumb athletes do COE.
