Is it impossible to get Goldman IB without an IB Junior internship?

Hey Monkeys, this is my first post. I'm an international student and because of the lack of international sponsorship from Investment Banks, it was hard for me to recruit for Junior year. However I don't want to give up just because I didn't get a Junior IB internship. I currently have an internship at a big insurance firm but I believe it isn't what I reallyyy want to do. Is it impossible to recruit for IB full time? not even Goldman but in general? I did push for Goldman but I'm ready to try harder for full time, any opinions? (background: I go to a target school and have a 3.80)

Tough to say man. I’m a first year there rn and I would say our current class is 90-95% from our summer analyst class. That remaining 5-10% is filled with analysts who have lateraled over, mostly to fill headcount when other analysts leave. I clearly haven’t met the entirety of my class as it’s literally hundreds, but personally have no heard of anyone who didn’t summer here or worked at a competitor IB get an offer. I don’t mean to be condescending, but just a reality

But gender more importantly. Girls Who Invest is the most insane program ever. Once saw a sophomore intern at ThirdPoint through that program
