Is it normal to make many mistakes as an intern?

I started my first real internship 3 weeks ago. My associate is great and helpful but most of the tasks i do and send to him to check, i make small mistaktes or get something wrong from and finish the task based on a wrong assumption. Not like i don't understand it at all but theres like always something i should have done different.

I am asking myself now if this is normal as im just an intern for not even a month without prior experience or if i am maybe not ready for a gig like this.

Ur chillin. I made errors frequently during each of my internships and it never hurt me. You're supposed to make mistakes, and it's expected to a degree, but try not to make the same mistakes twice and double/triple check things for stupid errors meticulously. Your attention to detail will improve over time on its own, which is the result of overcoming the growing pains that we've all experienced.

One word of advice, that my mentor once gave me, was to focus more on why you're doing the task and who's going to see it versus focusing on execution and getting tunnel vision.

We learn primarily by making mistakes. However, it is important to actually learn from them. Your reaction matters. Make sure, for instance, to stop doing typos or similar. These things are up to you. Rookie mistakes while working are ok, but be sure to learn from them and that your Associate and/or Director understand this. What you shouldn't do is complaining about doing them without trying anything to improve the situation. Personal advice.
