Know of a couple corp dev guys with 5-ish years of experience but none in IB who made the move to associate in banking, so it’s definitely feasible for you to make the move. The total years of experience or deal reps matter a lot though. You’ll be compared to analysts up for an associate position or a typical MBA associate profile. So the less years of experience, the more deal reps you’ll probably need. Otherwise you’ll probably come in as analyst 2 or 3. Your current employer and where you did your banking stint vs. your target banks will influence the outcome as well.

Hope this helps!

Edit: sorry, just checked, he made an AD/ED at the BB (so he spent there a few years more).

Edit2: his CorpDev stint was at a corporate with ~$100bn Reve
