Is July-August a shitty look for internship

Started my current internship at the end of July and will probably be ending it around the end of August. Alternatively, I could work until mid September (don’t really want to though). Will it look shitty to have an internship “July-August” (too short/not legit)? Also would they check with the internship employer, see that I started basically at the end of July and be pissy about it?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights:

  • Duration Concerns: Internships that are very short, such as one month, might raise questions about the depth of experience gained. Typically, longer internships are preferred as they suggest more substantial involvement and learning.

  • Employer Verification: Potential future employers might verify the details of your internship, including the start and end dates. If they see that the internship was very short, they might question its legitimacy or the extent of your contributions.

  • Perception: The perception of a short internship can vary. Some firms might be understanding, especially if you can clearly articulate what you learned and achieved during that time. However, others might view it less favorably compared to longer internships.

  • Alternative: If possible, extending the internship until mid-September could provide a more solid timeframe and potentially more valuable experience, which might be viewed more favorably by future employers.

In summary, while a short internship isn't ideal, how you present and explain your experience can make a significant difference. If extending the internship is an option, it might be worth considering to strengthen your resume.

Actually that’s what I was thinking of doing originally - would this be a bit sus though if they ask for dates or something from me or the employer? Since I’m already skivving the end of July for “July”
