Is this Normal?

Hello Fellow Monkeys,

I am a rising Freshman who will be attending a Semi-Target in the fall (think Dartmouth/Williams/Amherst). I wanted to get ahead of the curve and I managed to land a summer analyst position at a boutique in NYC/NJ/PA. The internship is only for one month, and it's unfortunately, not paid. My job is mostly busy work (as expected), and I'm just answering emails/administrative work for my direct report.

My concern is this; my direct report is making me do some very unusual things. For example he makes me pick up his girlfriend from the airport, watch his dog on the weekend, buy him zyns using my own money, and makes me steal lunches from the office fridge for him. He tells me that if I want to work in banking that I have to "put in the grind" for a few years, and says that my generation is soft (he's also a Gen Z though). However, my understanding is that the grind is more so analytical/hours related, as opposed to doing chores. Am I wrong?

For instance, I was at a family dinner on Saturday at around 6:00PM, and he kept blowing up my phone with emails and calls telling me to get to a computer immediately. My family and I were quite honestly shocked... I left the dinner and quickly drove back home, got to my desk setup and then: radio silence. He completely stopped communicating, and I didn't hear anything from him for the whole weekend (I sat at my desk for the rest of the night waiting). On Monday, I asked him what happened, and he told me that he was testing to see if I was "quick on my feet". It's all honestly very confusing and if this is what banking is like I'm not sure if I've made the correct career choice. I would appreciate if someone could let me know how I should proceed with this, thanks.

Edit: He will also sporadically text me throughout the day saying "I'm so fucked" with no additional context.
