Is this Possible?

A friend of mine works at a boutique bank, and knows someone extremely high up (above MD level- head of industry group) at a 1st tier Ibank. He went to the bottom of the totem pole terms of semi-targets. Had iffy grades but has intered in PWM, Capital Markets, and IBanking.

Is there any way in hell he gets an offer?

Do you know of any individuals at 1st tier BBs who are from semi-targets that match this description?

Absolutely, no problem, and takes it all the way to the bank while you're still crying about how great your Cornell degree is.

-- What the hell man.

Just what the hell.

The reason I asked is because there are no currently available positions (or at least postings for positions). My assumption is a position would have to be created for him in IBD - seems farfetched to me.
