Is this wrong to do

My deal team is busy and I saw that the client sent incomplete/bad data. If I flagged it earlier id have to wait till past 6pm for good data and then work till late night. So I just purposely didn’t mention it and I was able to work on it the next day once someone else noticed. No one knows I knew. What would you do?

Nice try, CFA, but you won't get me that easy.

Seriously, I'd say (1) I've seen far worse in this industry, (2) the fact that youre asking kind of answers the question for you, and (3) this might be bad longer term - if my Analyst is blinding producing work without thinking about the inputs and whether they make sense, that's kind of mid / lower bucket Analyst behaviour. Top bucket Analysts will flag this kind of thing and then I can trust them / know their work is reliable / etc.

Count WACCula

Totally get that and I'm sure the mechanics of your model was sound, but it's the GIGO argument - if you *reasonably* could or should have realised something was up with the data, then it might count towards you or against you if you flagged it or not

What client realistically would turn that same day? You would have likely not had it to the next day regardless.
