Japanese banking presence in the US
With what's happening with the recent Mizuho-Greenhill deal and Nomura with Greentech and the alliances with SMBC-Jefferies and MUFG-MS, what do y'all think the future presence/perception of Japanese banks in the US will be like?
Despite being conservative, they have definitely been making significant progress breaking into the M&A space. I believe that at least one of the Japanese banks ( probably Mizuho) will be able to make it to the top 10 list very soon. Then again, there is also the possibility they regress.
amazing how hard interns and prospects try to hide the fact they are shilling their own bank and yet still be so obvious

SMBC and Mizuho are looking promising. But it is a long game.
Not gonna happen. Nomura tried for years and couldn't make it. Japanese financial brands don't appeal to Western clients and employees.
What do you mean they couldn’t make it?
