J.P. Morgan Hirevue

Hi, I have a J.P. Morgan Hirevue coming up.

I was wondering if there are any important tips and things I should focus on in my preparation.

Moreover, if anyone has recently done it, I was wondering if there any specific questions which often appear more than others. Furthermore, if you have a good answer samples for why J.P. Morgan or other questions that are likely to appear I would love to hear. I would also love to hear from people who are working in the industry already how they perceive J.P. Morgan compared to other big banks and whats unique about J.P. Morgan.

I have about 2-3 days to study for it, I have studied for some time but now refining my answers and broadening it. On that note, should I answer as many questions as possible or focus and perfect some?

Thank a lot!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some key tips and strategies for preparing for your J.P. Morgan Hirevue interview:

Preparation Tips:

  1. Practice and Rehearse:

    • Strategy and Case Books: Find a case book that resonates with you and helps you learn the strategy and approach to tackling a case. This is similar to preparing for standardized tests like the SAT or GMAT.
    • Behavioral Interview Guide: Utilize guides like the WSO Behavioral Interview Guide, which includes sample questions and answers to help you polish your story and responses.
  2. Technical Knowledge:

    • Memorize Questions/Answers: For investment banking interviews, it's crucial to memorize all the questions and answers from a comprehensive interview guide. This ensures you are well-prepared for standard questions asked by household-name investment banks.
  3. Personalized Review Notes:

    • Create Detailed Notes: Develop a detailed set of review notes, including personalized questions and answers. This helps in reinforcing your knowledge and ensuring you are ready for any question that comes your way.
  4. Cheat Sheet:

    • Focus on Key Points: Create a one or two-page cheat sheet with the top 10-15 most frequently asked questions. This should include questions like "walk me through your resume," "why banking," "why our firm," "greatest strengths/weaknesses," etc.

  1. Why J.P. Morgan?

    • Sample Answer: "I am particularly drawn to J.P. Morgan because of its strong reputation in the industry, its commitment to innovation, and its focus on client service. It sounds like you have no idea what a HireVue is based on your last statement.

Not sure if are trying to be a smart ass or to help.

Hirevue is a platform where you are given about 3-5 questions to answer - usually behaviorals to see if you would fit the firm and move to face to face interview rounds. On that note, if you have a fixed amount of time to study you can research and refine a certain number of possible questions that come more often versus others that may come.

If you have any advice or any relevant things that would help me prepare and maybe I'm not aware of I'd appreciate your help but just saying things without any explanation or basis is just not helpful and wasting me time..

did you end up taking the hirevue? I also have one for the markets analyst position and I was wondering what questions you were asked?
